Cameron McMillan

Dancer and Choreographer Cameron McMillan became an Associate Artist of DanceEast in 2010. Cameron has presented two dance pieces at the Jerwood DanceHouse. ...And then you were gone was performed at Platform East in October 2010, and If Nobody Speaks… (choreographed and performed by Cameron), was performed in October 2011 as part of New Moves.
Cameron has also worked alongside the DanceEast Academy (a Centre for Advanced Training in dance) in collaboration with Aldeburgh Young Musicians, for the Sound Moves Music and Dance festival at the Royal Festival Hall.

Darren Ellis Dance
|
Darren Ellis Dance is a critically acclaimed dance company, established in 2007 by Darren Ellis (Artistic Director) and Martin Collins (Company Manager).
|
The companies’ aims are to work with a variety of collaborators in different artistic fields, and to bring this to new audiences through workshops and education projects.
In 2009/10 Darren led DanceEast's long-standing education project Boys in Babergh. He has also developed work with many graduate dance companies including Intoto, Edge, and Shift; the youth dance company at The Place. Darren was the Movement Director for a new Japanese film, which premiered in Cannes in 2011.

In 2010 the company completed a successful tour of Sticks and Bones with the National Dance Network, and represented DanceEast at Les Repérages at Danse à Lille in 2011.

Heather Eddington
|
Heather has been involved with DanceEast since 2000; creating numerous dance pieces that have been presented at the annual performance showcase Platform East. She has also worked on a number of community and education projects in the East of England. Heather became Associate Artist of DanceEast in 2008.
Heather's training began at The University of Birmingham, where she gained a BA First Class Honours in Dance and Theatre Arts. She then went on to study dancefilm on The Dance for Screen course directed by David Hinton at London Contemporary Dance School.

State of Flux Dancefilm Company, founded by Heather in 2003, is dedicated to the creation of exciting and original work through a fusion of dance, film and design. Heather's adventurous style generates an accessible and enjoyable dancefilm experience for audiences.

Matthew Bourne's Re:Bourne (Adventures in Dance)

| Re:Bourne (Adventures in Dance) became an Associate Company of DanceEast in 2011. This new partnership will see DanceEast and Re:Bourne collaborating to develop projects in Ipswich and throughout the East of England, and will also help to raise the profile of DanceEast and its base at the Jerwood DanceHouse, Ipswich. |
Re:Bourne aims to inspire and encourage young people and the adults they work with to explore and look at the world in new ways. Its year-round programme of work is designed to be accessible to any school or organisation wanting to step inside the creative process and productions that have made New Adventures a world-wide phenomenon.

Matthew Bourne is the creator of the world’s longest running ballet production, a five times Olivier Award winner, and the only British director to have won the Tony Award for both Best Choreographer and Best Director of a Musical.
Matthew started training to be a dancer at the comparatively late age of 22. He studied Dance Theatre and Choreography at The Laban Centre, and after graduating spent a further year with the college’s performance company Transitions. Matthew danced professionally for 14 years and launched New Adventures in 2002.

Wayne McGregor | Random Dance

Wayne McGregor | Random Dance has worked with DanceEast on a number of collaborative projects over the past 10 years and was announced as DanceEast's first Associate Company in 2006. Random Dance is also the Resident Company at Sadler's Wells.
Random has become celebrated not only for its dancers and repertory but for its pioneering use of science, new media and technology on stage. The company was founded by Wayne McGregor in 1992, and became the instrument upon which he evolved his choreographic style.

The company's technical projects include web casting live performances, and exploring broadband bi-directional performance where two companies perform simultaneously in different parts of the world.
Random Dance has also incorporated technology into its outreach work. The company's educational team engages hundreds of young people each year in school and community projects.

Wayne McGregor was awarded a CBE in the 2011 New Year honours list in
recognition of his outstanding services to dance.
