Attendance policy
Students will be expected to attend all classes detailed in the ITP. This is important and will ensure that all students benefit from the consistency of training.
Students will be provided with an
Academy Schedule
at the start of the year. As far as possible, this will give class and performance dates for the whole of the academic year. As we provide this list in advance, we expect students to be available for all of these dates.
We will expect a 90% attendance rate from all students, allowing a maximum of 10% for illness. Students with an unacceptable attendance rate will not be able to continue with the course.
Students must inform the Academy management if there is a session that they are unable to attend by completing a Planned Absence form. Please remember that all students will be assessed on attendance, as regular attendance enables the whole group to progress.
The DanceEast Academy classes and activities need to take priority over other dance activities to ensure that all students are able to fully benefit from the opportunities provided. We hope to minimise any disruption to other activities by publishing timetables and additional sessions at the start of each year, with any amendments publicised as early as possible.
Punctuality is essential. Students must arrive on time for registration. If they are late, they must see the Academy staff immediately to register and find out if they are able to participate.
If students are more than 10 minutes late to a practical class they will not be allowed to participate for their own safety.
