Individual Training Plans
Individual Training Plans (ITPs) are designed to help students get the best out of the training and set personal targets and goals. We are aware that young dancers develop and improve at different speeds and the ITP allows us to monitor this.
The ITP will be devised between the teaching team, the student and their parents / guardians / carers. We will send a copy of the programme to the student's school (mainstream education) with permission, and any other dance teachers with whom students are taking additional classes.
Initially, parents / guardian / carers will be asked to meet with the Academy team twice a year to discuss progress and any changes to the ITP. We will endeavour to offer times at the start or end of class to minimise additional travel and inconvenience.
The ITP will also record goals and weaknesses, to enable each student to have a clear idea of what they are working on.
Health profiling
Students with the DanceEast Academy will undergo a health and fitness profiling session twice a year, this will allow us to record fitness levels, flexibility and strength. The results of these profiling sessions will allow us to advise students about what they need to work on in the fitness section of the ITP.
The fitness profiling will be conducted by a team of Dance Scientists and Physiotherapists. Should a parent wish to be present during these group sessions please contact the Academy Manager.
