DanceEast Academy

What to wear for Academy classes

Students need to wear tight fitting practice clothes to enable the tutors to see the student's body working during class. They also need to demonstrate that they are prepared and ready for each class and presented in a professional manner. All jewellery must be removed as wearing it presents a health and safety risk.

DanceEast provides:
  • DanceEast Academy sweatshirt, which students will be required to wear when they are together as a group away from regular class locations, and between class sessions.
  • Girls: A leotard for ballet classes
  • Boys: A suitable dance vest for ballet classes

If students are taking mid-week classes on their Individual Training Plan outside the Academy, they should ask for the uniform requirements from the class teacher and dress neatly at all times.

    Lost Property

All dancewear should be clearly labelled with the student's name. Lost property will be collected and held in the office at the Jerwood DanceHouse until the end of term, when unclaimed items will be donated to charity.
