Masterclass
Contemporary Dance Masterclass with Michael Clark Company.
Professional dancers Melissa Hetherington and Kate Coyne will co-teach this masterclass, incorporating repertory from the company's latest production Stravinsky Project Mmm... which they will be peforming at Snape Maltings on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 November.
The class is aimed at advanced and professional dancers with a strong ballet or contemporary technique. Kate trained at the Royal Ballet School and London School of Contemporary Dance, and graduated into London Contemporary Dance Theatre. She later joined Rambert Dance Company and pursued a freelance career, before joining Michael Clark Company in 1997. She has also appeared with Jeremy James and Dancers, Martha Clarke, Mark Baldwin Dance Company and DV8.
Melissa trained as a Junior Associate at the Royal Ballet School for three years performing with the Royal Ballet in London and Japan. After graduating from the London Studio Centre in 2000 she began work with Sheron Wray's Jazz Xchange Music and Dance Company. Melissa joined the Michael Clark Company in 2001. In 2007 Melissa worked with the Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company as Assistant Rehearsal Director.
