Russell Maliphant trained at the Royal Ballet School and graduated into Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet before leaving to pursue a career in independent dance, working with companies such as DV8 Physical Theatre, Michael Clark & Company, Laurie Booth Company and Rosemary Butcher. Russell has since become an award winning choreographer for his collaborative work with Sylvie Guillem.
The day will begin with a class looking at ways of releasing the body through bodywork techniques that will develop articulation. The class will work through movement phrases and will begin to look at improvisational techniques. The class will be followed by some tasks to stimulate the making of movement.
