Young students from DanceEast’s Centre for Advanced training will showcase their talent in a mixed bill of works as part of their End of Year Show on Saturday 29 July, created by influential national and international choreographers. With the evening show already sold out, these aspiring dancers look set to impress local audiences as they take to the stage at the Jerwood DanceHouse.

Running throughout this year’s programme of work is the theme of playfulness, as the dancers explore ways to be their true authentic selves, and reflect that in their performance. With a high calibre of professional dance artists working with the students during their training, the show will present exciting works by Arthur Pita, Michela Meazza (Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures), Lisa Hood (Avant Garde Dance), Joss Arnott, Jo Meredith, Luke Brown and Glasshouse Dance.

Based at the Jerwood DanceHouse, the DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training is one of ten national dance organisations offering part-time, non-residential, professional dance training to young people aged 10 – 18 years of age. Students are based throughout the East of England, each with exceptional potential in dance; they are fantastic regional representatives for dance talent in and around Suffolk.

With funding from the Department for Education’s Music and Dance Scheme, the DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training develops students’ talent through a pioneering programme, creating and inspiring future generations of world-class dancers and choreographers.

The scheme has a 100% success rate of students continuing dance training at Further or Higher Education level, nurturing and supporting gifted and talented young people who would like to pursue a career in dance.
