Applications are now open for the U.Dance East Regional Platform, taking place in February 2018.
U.Dance is a programme, led by One Dance UK, which seeks to increase the number of youth dance performances and support those who organise them. The framework aims to provide dance performance opportunities for every child and young person in England. U.Dance East therefore celebrates and showcases excellence in youth dance from across the East.
Groups performing at U.Dance East can choose to be part of a selection process to go to the U.Dance 2018 National Platform. U.Dance 2018 will be held at DanceEast, Suffolk between Friday 12 – Sunday 15 July 2018. During the festival youth dance companies and groups from around the UK will be given the opportunity to perform at DanceEast.
The applications to firstly perform at U.Dance East are open to any youth dance company, group or individual and the opportunity is open to any dance form including, but not limited to, Street, Contemporary, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, South Asian, Ballroom and Latin.
To submit an application, complete an application form and send a short film (no more than three minutes) of the dance piece you would like to put forward. Applications are welcome from dance groups across the entire eastern region who work in all genres of dance, with young people aged between 11 – 19 (or up to age 25 for dancers with additional needs).
