DanceEast supports local group Breast Foot Forward this September
DanceEast, Kat Hesse and Breast Foot Forward are teaming up to invite breast cancer patients and all lovers of dance to experience a
free Tripudio taster session on Saturday 24 September, 3.30 - 4.30pm at the Jerwood DanceHouse, Ipswich.
The taster session will help to
raise awareness of the health and wellbeing benefits of dance-based exercise following cancer surgery.
Tripudio is the movement programme for scar tissue release and lymphatic flow, developed for post-surgery rehabilitation and chronic conditions. People attending this hour of music, fun and laughter will dance the afternoon away whilst supporting local group, Breast Foot Forward.
Kat Hesse of Rhythm of Life, who is the tutor for the Tripudio taster session, said:
'A Tripudio class is a great way of releasing tension and creating freedom of movement after surgery. Members of Breast Foot Forward, an Ipswich-based cancer support group, have been doing specialist dance-based classes with me for over a year, and they are really feeling the benefits in terms of increased wellbeing and flexibility. It’s great that DanceEast has joined us to help spread the good news about getting involved in dance after breast cancer.'
Tripudio is suitable for men; women and children aged 8 - 100! No prior dance training or equipment is required; simply wear loose and comfortable clothing.
There is no charge for the taster class (donations to Breast Foot Forward), but places are limited, so please pre-book by emailing
breastfootforward@yahoo.co.uk
