DanceHouse open weekend


  • Friday 9 October: An evening of Salsa and sangria from 7.00pm, with classes followed by a party with Salsa Chillout and live band Palenke. Party tickets are £5 or £7 including a Salsa lesson. Click here for more information
  • Saturday 10 October: Open top bus parade at 12.00pm from the Cornhill in the town centre to the DanceHouse, with a dancing procession hosted by the comic act New Art Club to James Brown's Get Up Offa That Thing. DanceEast commissioned film maker Heather Eddington to create a DVD of this dance with instructions which is being given out to schools, local businesses and keen dancers across Suffolk.   • 9.00am - 6.00pm: FREE taster sessions in Egyptian Belly Dancing, Hip Hop, Tots & Co, Ballet and Musical Theatre Dance, plus lots more. These will run on a drop in basis; come along for a quick taster or stay for the whole session.

  • 2.00-5.30pm: Live music plus performances by an array of national dance artists.
