Three & Four Quarters

Acclaimed British dancers Charlotte Broom and Christopher Akrill (Cullberg Ballet, Northern Ballet Theatre) bring their exciting new company HeadSpaceDance to DanceEast for their debut show
Three & Four Quarters, comprising work from four celebrated contemporary choreographers –
Mats Ek,
Javier De Frutos,
Luca Silvestrini and
Didy Veldman.
This project represents a fascinating new development for Akrill and Broom as curators and emerging producers; fellow dance artist Clemmie Sveaas will join them.
They have commissioned three of the works especially for this programme, with trios from De Frutos, Silvestrini and Veldman. For the fourth piece Mats Ek will rework his 1991 duet
Light Beings specifically for them. This dancer-led collaboration promises to be rich in wit, verve and soul.
