Photography has always been a fond hobby of mine and I have used it as a creative outlet particularly in the last five to six years. I am a self taught photographer; when doing media and publicity for various past shows and choreographic projects, I spent a lot of time learning about my sisters camera to be able to take the best pictures possible. As a training dancer, photographing a moving performer is something which has intrigued me for a long time. Capturing intricate details of a dancer’s form; flow, intensity and integrity of the movement is something which can accentuate both photography and dance as beautiful and complimenting art forms. The workshop with Chris Nash gave me a chance to learn in further details the intricacies of a camera to be able to photograph and be photographed in the future, it was an insightful and inspiring two day workshop with results I am proud of as someone with fairly little photography experience.
