DanceEast works with a wide range of artists, companies and UK and international partners. We are now looking for up to four choreographers to collaborate closely with over the next two years, through our Associate Artist Scheme.
The scheme is open application and we are keen to hear expressions of interest from individual artists who feel that they can both benefit from, and actively contribute to, a relationship with DanceEast.
Our 2015-2017 cohort of Associate Artists included James Cousins, Rosemary Lee, Anna Williams, Alexander Whitley and Tom Hobden and Kate Flurrie.
This scheme provides a bursary of up to £5000 over two years from April 2018, plus access to state-of-the-art facilities at the Jerwood DanceHouse, together with support from our specialist team.
DanceEast are seeking to appoint four Associate Artists working across a range of different dance practices and styles. It is expected that three artists will be practitioners with a significant track record, e.g. a minimum of five years professional experience, and evidence of demand for their work. The fourth will be a Junior Associate; someone who has graduated in the last three years and is looking to progress their career as a dance maker.
We welcome applications from dance artists based in the East and artists from diverse backgrounds, including BAME artists and those with and without disabilities.
For more information about the DanceEast Associate Artist Scheme, please read the Guidelines and FAQ and complete an Expression of Interest Application form, including an online link of up to three minutes of your professional work.
Deadline for applications: Monday 15 January 2018
