Creative Dance (7-11yrs)

This course is an introduction to contemporary dance where the children will create and develop their own movement and choreography.

Using creative play to inspire and generate individual movement, children will learn a sequence or phrase and develop this choreography to create unique and individual dance. Text, words and music will be used for inspiration, focus and creativity.

This class will provide young people with an insight into basic contemporary dance technique (how to follow instructions, remembering movement, learning technical movement). Children will be encouraged to begin to develop their own unique movement style through improvisation games and tasks. Text, words and music will be used for inspiration, focus and creativity.

Children will learn how to successfully work together with peers, helping them to form relationships with others their age.
