Extended Timetable: Pilates

A Pilates class for all abilities designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, balance and posture, and enhance mental awareness.

Pilates emphasises your body’s core – the abdomen, obliques, lower back, inner and outer thigh and bottom. This gentle form of exercise means there is a much lower chance of injury than with other forms of exercise. The discipline focuses on correct alignment and form and the tutors are experts at working with a variety of injuries and providing modifications of challenging moves. The exercises build the body’s core strength and improve posture through a series of low repetition, low impact stretching and conditioning exercises, which develop muscles without adding bulk.

Meet the Tutor
Michael Mann

Michael trained with Alan Herdman as a pilates teacher in 1987, and worked at Shrubland Hall until it closed in 2006, he then moved to Gilmour Pipers. Michael has worked with all sorts of clients including Royals, celebrities and athletes.

What to wear

You can wear any loose, comfortable clothing which you can move freely in and we do please ask that you have bare feet.
