Extended Timetable: Tots & Co (9 months – 2 years & Adults)

A fun and sociable class, for parents with tots 9 months - 2 years, that uses themes, music, props, games and imagination.

Tots & Co classes are designed to enhance your children’s co-ordination and rhythm and nurture their natural love of movement in a structured yet relaxed environment. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to join in and share the enjoyment with their tot, there is an emphasis on nurturing relationships between the adult and the child as well as developing the child’s movement.

Using ribbons, hoops, balls, parachutes and other interesting props you and your children will be taken on exciting journeys and imaginative adventures. Each week has a different theme, taking inspiration from childrens stories and the world around us. The class will not only assist in developing physical skills, but also transferable skills, such as observing, copying, listening for a signal, responding to instructions and sharing with other children – many of the skills they will need at school.

Meet the Tutor
Sarah Franklin

Sarah trained at the Laban Centre in London and has been a Community Dance Artist for over 30 years. Her passion for accessible and inclusive dance has provided opportunities to work with people aged from 3 months to 80+ years in a variety of community, residential and educational settings. Her rich and diverse experiences range from Street Theatre on the terraces of Millwall football ground to Workshop Leader on the Royal Ballet School’s Primary Steps programme. Sarah has led a number of dance projects and Community Companies and developed workshops and performances with Professional Companies and Artists, including: Action Space, Guru Circus, Suffolk Artlink and Random Dance. Sarah’s work with Moko Dance ignited a passion for Early Years dance which she continues to develop in her role as Core Tutor for Dance East.

What to wear

You can wear any loose, comfortable clothing which you and your children can move freely in. We do ask that you have bare feet.
