Fusion workshop with Michael Joseph

MJ trained at Rambert originally and in a vast career performing, making and teaching dance MJ has built a dance technique that blends together and fuses all his influences and practices from contemporary to capoeira, breaking to ballet. In this workshop you’ll explore a range of movement, and the possibilities of movement.

“I am a highly experienced and versatile dance practitioner having worked across the sector for 34 years as an educator, community artist, dancer, choreographer, film maker and most recently scholar as I embark on my post graduate studies.

My practice is varied and ranges from delivering advanced level technical training in vocational and higher education settings, to working with different community groups with a focus on inclusion, particularly around disabled participants. As a teacher/tutor, I pride myself on encouraging excellence from my students, achieving this through adapting my classes based on the needs of the individuals. I am also passionate about promoting and encouraging dance for all and most specifically encouraging and inspiring young men and boys in dance and BAME students. As a male of colour I can relate to their experience in both education and dance.”
