NEW Creative Choreography (11-16 years)

This fun and energetic class will teach young people the fundamentals of choreography.

A progression from Creative Dance, this fun and energetic class will teach young people the fundamentals of choreography. You will learn how to create a dance by exploring dance vocabulary and technique, composition and creativity. Perfect for young aspiring choreographers – especially young people thinking about pursuing GCSE and A-Level Dance.

Students will be supported by the tutor to create their own work from their ideas and visions. Each week will focus on a new way of creating choreography, which will culminate into student’s own work towards the end of term.

Hayley Lemon

Hayley graduated from the University of Bedfordshire with a Distinction Master’s in Dance Performance and Choreography in September 2018. After graduating Hayley began working as The Colchester Sixth Form College’s Artist in Residence and choreographed a piece for A-Level dance students, which was selected to represent the East Region at the U.Dance National platform at the Southbank Centre in 2019. As well as this Hayley has also been working as a community artist in a number of settings, including a local SEN school, as well as secondary schools and leisure centres.
