Our Afternoon Ballet Classes are open to all levels, no dance experience required. This class welcomes participants of mixed ability and modifications will be offered for each exercise.
Each class will start with a warm up at the barre before practicing the techniques and positions needed for centre work. The second half of the class moves into the centre to practice a mixture of turns and small allegro (jumping) moves, before ending with a slow and gentle stretch on the floor.
Led by our experienced ballet teacher, Gail Lister, you can expect to:
- Learn the French terminology for ballet moves, and each move will be explained in English too.
- Improve posture, balance and coordination
- Develop technique, muscular strength and flexibility
Please wear clothes that you are comfortable moving in and bring a bottle of water. Water fountains can be found on the ground floor and 1st floor of the building.
