Yoga (Ashtanga)

Yoga is a spiritual and ascetic discipline, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures.

This a strong and dynamic class. Classes are based on a set sequence of postures linked together by the breath. No rest in between poses but a blissful relaxation at the end of class. Although no prior yoga experience is required these classes are suitable for those with a reasonable level of strength, stamina and fitness.

Some people find that the physical practice of yoga becomes a gateway into spiritual exploration, while others just enjoy a wonderful low-impact workout that makes them feel great. Typically, a DanceEast yoga class will focus purely on the physical benefits of yoga.

I have been practising yoga for over 20 years and teaching for the past 14 years. I am trained to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga by my teacher John Scott. I love the energy of the practice and seeing new students start their yoga journey. I look forward to meeting you very soon!

What to wear

You can wear any loose, comfortable clothing that you can move freely in, and we do ask that you have bare feet.
