Yoga is a spiritual and ascetic discipline, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures.

The sessions involve working in a series of poses and postures which are either seated or standing. There is a focus on breath and overall wellbeing therefore it can help participants who suffer from stress and anxiety.

Relaxation and Pranayama (breathing techniques) are practised to release tension in mind and body for overall health and well-being. Yoga is a safe and effective way to increase physical activity, especially strength, flexibility and balance and it is widely practised for health and relaxation.

Some people find that the physical practice of yoga becomes a gateway into spiritual exploration, while others just enjoy a wonderful low-impact workout that makes them feel great. Typically, a DanceEast yoga class will focus purely on the physical benefits of yoga.

I have been practising yoga for over 20 years and teaching for the past 14 years. I am trained to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga by my teacher John Scott. I love the energy of the practice and seeing new students start their yoga journey. I look forward to meeting you very soon!
