Yoga (Hatha Flow)

Yoga is a spiritual and ascetic discipline, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures.

The sessions involve working in a series of poses and postures which are either seated or standing. There is a focus on breath and overall wellbeing therefore it can help participants who suffer from stress and anxiety.

Relaxation and Pranayama (breathing techniques) are practised to release tension in mind and body for overall health and well-being. Yoga is a safe and effective way to increase physical activity, especially strength, flexibility and balance and it is widely practised for health and relaxation.

Some people find that the physical practice of yoga becomes a gateway into spiritual exploration, while others just enjoy a wonderful low-impact workout that makes them feel great. Typically, a DanceEast yoga class will focus purely on the physical benefits of yoga.


Daisy Turner and Pippa Jacob are Twin Yoga, a Suffolk based double act bringing fun, mindful practice to your mat. Twin Yoga will be sharing the Thursday evening class at DanceEast.


Daisy found yoga almost 10 years ago whilst recovering from illness and it was instrumental in building both physical and mental strength. Upon returning to her home town of Ipswich, Daisy and her mum, Lynn began running seasonal yoga days at DanceEast as a means for drawing together yoga and wellness practitioners from around East Anglia.

Daisy loves sharing a strong hatha flow practice lead by the breath.  Daisy also teaches Yin which offers the chance to really draw inwards, work through challenges and find new space in the body.

Pippa arrived on the mat 5 years ago after wandering down the path of mindfulness meditation as a way to aid mental well-being. During an 8-week course, Pippa practised mindful movement which she fell in love with and learned that this was yoga. Ever since that course, Pippa has integrated yoga and meditation into her daily life. Much like Daisy, yoga has been a journey to wellness.

Daisy and Pippa decided to bring their passions for yoga and teaching together and embarked upon a 200 hours Yoga Alliance Teacher Training course in December 2017 with the legendary female yogi Padma Nair of PadmaKarma in Kerala, India.


You can expect to find Twin Yoga combining hatha flow with yin, breath work (pranayama) and guided meditation.

What to wear

You can wear any loose, comfortable clothing that you can move freely in, and we do ask that you have bare feet.
