If you join us for Afternoon Ballet, you can expect a fun class that improves posture, strength and coordination, whilst developing technique and flexibility. You will learn the French terminology for ballet moves, and each move will be explained in English too.
Each class will begin with barre work to warm up and to practice the techniques and positions needed for centre work. The second half of the class moves into the centre to practice a mixture of turns and small allegro (jumping) moves, before ending with a slow and gentle stretch on the floor.
All levels of experience will enjoy this class, whether you’ve danced before or not. Any ability can join and there will be options to modify an exercise to make it more simple or difficult – so you can adapt this class to suit your own ability.
Make sure you have water to hand, it’s important to stay hydrated! If you are a beginner, you may wish to look up the basic ballet positions of the feet and the arms before you join the class.
*No classes during half term – week commencing 24 October.
