Laura started her professional dance training on the CAT at the Northern School of Contemporary dance, after 3 years of intense training, she moved to London to continue her dance and musical theatre training at the Urdang Academy. After graduating in 2012, Laura has worked professionally across the country, working with dance companies ( Rambert, Phoenix dance Theatre), musicals (the fix, Billy Liar, panto) and went on a uk tour with the John Godber Theatre company with “Teechers”. Laura has participated in TV adverts and has recently began teaching at DanceEast. Laura also runs a buggy bootcamp for mums in her local area and teaches adult ballet to her local Community.
Katharine’s yoga journey began in 1996 in London with Satyananda and Sivananda Yoga, returning to Kerala to train to teach Sivananda in 2004. A few years later, Katharine found Ashtanga in Goa and loved the heat and intensity of practice, the constant breath and flow – she then went to Mysore to practice under Sharath and Saraswati.
Hayley graduated from the University of Bedfordshire with a Distinction Master’s in Dance Performance and Choreography in September 2018. After graduating Hayley began working as The Colchester Sixth Form College’s Artist in Residence and choreographed a piece for A-Level dance students, which was selected to represent the East Region at the U.Dance National platform at the Southbank Centre in 2019. As well as this, Hayley has also been working as a community artist in a number of settings, including a local SEN school, secondary schools and leisure centres.
Karen is a Suffolk based Dance Artist specialising in contemporary and community dance. She trained at Roehampton University where she gained a BA (hons) in Dance Studies, she went on to complete a PGCE at University Campus Suffolk in 2014. Karen set up Karen Louise Dance in 2016, which currently runs two weekly classes; StowMovers, a movement class for 55yrs+ and KLYDC, her youth company. She also teaches for Dance Network Association in Essex for their youth clubs and Dance For Parkinson’s classes, as well as DanceEast projects such as Hadleigh Movers.
