Boys United

Improve your dance technique and develop choreographic and creative skills in a fun and energetic male-only environment.

Led by Shaun Dillon, members of Boys United are given the opportunity to improve technique and develop choreographic skills in a fun and energetic male-only environment. Boys United projects often involve cross-disciplinary exploration of dance and film, as well as working with a range of styles, along with contemporary dance.

In February 2018 Boys United performed at the U.Dance Regional Platform at the University of Bedfordshire. The group were then selected to perform at the U.Dance National Festival at the Jerwood DanceHouse in July 2018.

The group work towards their Bronze or Silver Arts Award over the year and have the opportunity to work with guest artists.

No previous dance experience is necessary, but enthusiasm and commitment is a must!

Suitable for boys and young men aged 10 – 18 years.

Meet the Tutor

As a London-based choreographer with his own company (Dillon Dance, established in 2015), Shaun has also developed extensive teaching experience over the last 7 years across the UK - most notably at Sadler’s Wells, TrinityLaban, Roehampton University and as a London Ambassador for Matthew Bourne's 'Lord of the Flies' (2014). His passion and commitment to youth and education has also lead to his choreographic work being showcased by A-D-1 and B-D-1 youth dance companies as one of the selected choreographers to represent London in UDANCE 2012 and 2013.

Shaun has worked for Matthew Bourne's New Adventures and Re:Bourne, Flexus Dance Theatre, Third Row Dance Company, Volkosti Cossacks, and C-12 Dance Theatre. Working with established choreographers such as Katy Sterran, Shaun Parker, James Finnemore, Annie-Lunette Deakin-Foster, Mari Frogner, and Georgia Tegou.
