MAKERSPACE

Over Summer and Winter, after our programmed activity ceases, the Jerwood DanceHouse comes to a lull. During these rare periods in the DanceEast calendar when we are free of other commitments, we can support artists with studio space more than any other point in the year. DanceEast uses this opportunity to host Makerspace.

Makerspace is open to all dance artists at any career stage, this relaxed residency offers space and freedom to work on projects, research new ideas, rehearse, or creative exploration with no required outcomes. We prioritise East and Southeast based artists, striving to represent a range of artists and dance styles, but the offer is open to all.

Applications for Winter Makerspace are now closed.

If you are interested in signing up for our Artist Newsletter, please email katie.byford@danceeast.co.uk to sign up to our mailing list. Our artist newsletter is sent out on the last Friday of every month. sharing artistic opportunities upcoming at the Jerwood DanceHouse, including Makerspace, and from our friends across the region.

Please see below the terms of Makerspace:

Makerspace includes:

  • Hands-off studio time – space to explore, rehearse and move.
