Joss Arnott and Dame Evelyn Glennie have joined forces to create a brand new triple-bill performance, world premiering at DanceEast!
DanceEast is delighted to welcome one of the most exciting British contemporary dance companies, Joss Arnott Dance, together with GRAMMY award-winning percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie, to present the world premiere of 5 | 0; a celebration marking the company’s fifth and Dame Evelyn’s fiftieth birthday.
The world premiere performance on Friday 16 October sold out within days and DanceEast was able to add another performance on Saturday 17 October. There are now only a handful of tickets remaining for this performance so book now to avoid disappointment!
Joss Arnott Dance has joined forces with 2015 Polar Music Prize laureate Dame Evelyn Glennie, who has collaborated with the company’s Composer James Keane, to create the thundering score she will perform live onstage for the climax of the trip bill – Wide Awakening.
The high-octane, adrenaline-fuelled evening of dance and live music will feature three pieces:
24 – A quartet inspired by the themes and concepts within the Alexander McQueen exhibition ‘Savage Beauty’, exploring ethereal and animalistic qualities through fragility and severity.
V – A technical and emotive solo that explores the rare and contorted beauty our bodies have to offer.
Wide Awakening – An exhilarating and mesmerising new work featuring 5 dancers, where powerful movement and a pounding percussive score combine to the point of exhaustion.
