Never danced before but want to perform on stage?… Now is your chance!

16 Nov 2014 | DanceEast

We are looking to put together a community dance group made up of 20 performers for a very exciting dance project. Whether you are an experienced dancer or have never danced before, as long as you have the enthusiasm and commitment this could be the opportunity for you!

The Village is an exciting community dance project produced by DanceEast in collaboration with dance company UNIT (Tom Hobden & Kate Flurrie). Choreographer Tom Hobden and Film Director Kate Flurrie will work alongside Dance Artists Lynette King and Caroline Mummery to create a full length performance. Members of the community cast will work with Tom Hobden.

The cast of The Village will include up to 200 performers, including performers from local schools in the Babergh, Mid Suffolk and Forest Heath districts and DanceEast’s resident Performance Gompanies Spin Off and Suffolk Junior Dance Company.

The project will culminate in performances at the Jerwood DanceHouse, Ipswich on Saturday 14 March 2015 and The Apex, Bury St. Edmunds on Wednesday 25 March 2015.

If you are interested in taking part or would like further information please contact Jane Langston.

This project is supported by Mid Suffolk District Council, Forest Heath District Council, Babergh District Council and The Apex.
