ROCKBOTTOM is a personal piece that explores one man’s journey into and out of the deep end of human existence. The performance which comprises themes of mental health and addiction, aims to ignite discussion, challenge preconceptions and invite reflection.
Stuart Waters tells the tale of how he hit his own ‘Rockbottom’ through physical choreography and humour. ROCKBOTTOM skyrockets between highs, lows, ecstasy and despair with heart-warming honesty.
“A truly captivating performance, deeply poignant, with cheeky audience interaction and laugh-out-loud humour!” Homotopia Festival 2018
In order to explore the depths of his story safely, Stuart Waters worked alongside Mental Health professionals to develop an approach to safeguard audiences emotional and mental health.
After having the privilege of watching this work evolve, DanceEast are looking forward to sharing ROCKBOTTOM with audiences through PULSE Festival 2019. Tickets can be purchased via New Wolsey Theatre at www.wolseytheatre.co.uk
