Get your feet a stomping with Dance In Line – Line Dancing with a modern twist!

Come and join us for some fun, basic routines to great music from across the genres and decades. Plus, there’s also some of your Line Dancing favourites to look for-ward to. No experience necessary.

This is something for all ages and abilities to enjoy and you don’t need a partner!

The Dance Afloat Agency was established in 2001 by Ballroom and Latin American dance champions, and professional dance instructors, Debbie & Kevin Snashall. Both Debbie & Kevin began their love of Ball-room and Latin American Dancing back in the 1970’s and they trained together at the Ipswich School of Dancing.

Dance Afloat provide Dance Hosts, Host Couples, Dance Cabaret Acts and Professional Dance Instructors to cruise line and holiday companies for short-term working holiday contracts, keeping the world dancing.

Look Mum, No Hands… playground edition!

A tender tale of friendship and growing up. Look Mum, No Hands… playground edition! explores a coming-of-age story about two friends testing their own boundaries. Together they explore freedom, taking risks and independence. They see how those things change, depending on who you are.

BOOK FOR SHORTS

A Hip-Hop dance adventure where two friends need your help! Join in with the dancers and get the chance to finish telling their story in this interactive and lively show. BOOK FOR SHORTS promises to engage and inspire children through this unforgettable experience!

The Playground Tour is commissioned and produced by The Place. With support from Applause, The Egg, 101 Arts Creation Space, Stanley Arts and Wandsworth Council.

Vanhulle Dance Theatre, Dovetail

An eclectic dance duet mixing Breakin’, Martial Arts and highly physical contemporary movement, Dovetail reveals and unveils what it means to rebuild oneself, set within a complicated but relatable relationship. It’s human, it’s organic, it’s emotive. Suitable for ages.

Rhythmflow Body Purcussion Basics with Rikkai Scott

Join Rikkai for an hour of rhythmic movement, where he will lead you through basics of body percussion. The class will begin with an exciting warm up exploring rhythms, flow, polyrhythms and textures within your body to be used as an instrument to produce rhythmic sounds through choreography.

Rhythmflow is a tap fusion dance company established in 2016 and founded by Artistic Director Rikkai Scott. The company specialises in Tap, Hip Hop and Contemporary dance.

Dance Along Mary Poppins Workshop with Glasshouse Dance

Join your hosts Laura and Sarah and learn simple moves from iconic moments in the film, followed by an interactive showing of Mary Poppins.

Practically perfect in every way, Mary Poppins is a film for all ages and is nothing less than supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Boogie with the whole family, show off your best moves and take part in fun games and themed arts and crafts!

Vanulle Dance Theatre, Olive Branch

Olive Branch is a poetic tale of rediscovering the wonder and beauty that nature provides. Following the new and unusual friendship between two strangers, they quickly learn to overcome differences, despite miscommunications, by developing trust and acceptance, an alliance is formed to defend mother nature.

Olive Branch is a family friendly feel-good, funny, and dynamic dance duet that intertwines contemporary dance with martial arts.

Ragroof Tea Dances with Round in Circles

The legendary Ragroof Tea Dance returns to the First Light Festival – a cornucopia of dancing delights, featuring a DJ playing vintage tunes, glamorous costumes, glorious dance displays, and our trademark Instant Dance Classes in a number of popular dance rhythms.

No dance partners needed, as our gender-neutral approach encourages everyone on to the dancefloor. All welcome – absolute beginners and experienced dancers alike.

Temporarily Forever with Hannah Rudd and Kerenza Peacock

As the first light of Sunday breaks over the North Sea, join acclaimed dancer Hannah Rudd and celebrated violinist Kerenza Peacock for the debut of Temporarily Forever, a new collaboration created for Dawn.

Temporarily Forever is a recognition of the continual passing of experience through life, and an offering to that which is temporary – but its absence lasting. With the new dawn, a moment to honour the resonance of life we carry – and the opportunity to release this into the fresh tide.
