Hearts | SAY Dance

The DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) is part of a national programme that offers world-class pre-vocational dance training to young people with exceptional potential.

Every year the students work with leading choreographers to create a series of performances for the End of Year Show which gives the students an insight into the professional dance world.

This year was a little bit different. Throughout March and April, unable to attend in-person classes, the CAT students worked with leading dance companies Humanhood, New Movement Collective, SAY Dance and Night People Events to create short dance films. The students filmed themselves using their own mobile phones and the footage has been edited together by film makers.

We’ll be sharing these 5 dance films to celebrate how hard the students have worked and that on Saturday 31 July the DanceEast CAT will finally be able to perform together again at Christchurch Park for this years End of Year Show.
From Monday 26 – Friday 30 July, each evening at 7.00pm there will be screenings on our Facebook page and website:

Mon 26 July, 7.00pm: AETHER | Humanhood
Tue 27 July, 7.00pm: How Do You Do | New Movement Collective
Wed 28 July, 7.00pm: Becoming Other | Night People Events
Thu 29 July, 7.00pm: Zest | New Movement Collective
