River Stage 2022
For the first time since 2019, the National Theatre’s River Stage festival will return to London’s South Bank. Take-over partner Hofesh Shechter Company invite you to join them for an unforgettable weekend on the River Stage.
On Sunday 7 August, students from the DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) perform an extract from Hofesh Shechter’s iconic work Political Mother.

Based at the Jerwood DanceHouse, the DanceEast CAT provides high-quality dance training to young people aged 10 – 18 years who have exceptional potential and talent. The part-time pre-vocational programme covers subjects including contemporary dance, ballet, health and creative studies.

Our students work with a large team of professional dance artists and other like-minded young people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. We look for young people from the East of England with strong physical awareness, creativity and the ability to work as part of a team and independently.
