DanceEast, like so many other arts and cultural organisations, is a registered charity and, as such, much of our work is subsidised through fundraising. We believe in Great Dance for Everyone – dance has recreational, social, educational and therapeutic powers. Dance as an expressive artform can improve self-esteem and confidence, it can raise aspirations, and promote physical and psychological wellbeing. Each year we select an area of work that we are passionate about and ask for your help as we embark on a six-month fundraising campaign to support the delivery of high quality dance provision. This year our GET DANCING campaign will raise funds to support our vital work with children and young people – with a focus on increasing access and breaking down barriers to participation so that every child and young person can experience the benefits of dance.
GET DANCING will enable us to reach children and young people that might not otherwise have the opportunity to engage in dance – helping to inspire and grow positive and confident young people with a passion for dance. Who knows, your support might just help to create the next generation of professional dancers.
We are asking people to donate £10 to help us achieve our £5,000 fundraising target which will provide 900 hours of high quality dance provision.
Keep an eye out as more stories will be added throughout the campaign, and if you have engaged with our work or just love dancing, we would like you to share your story with us using #getdancing
Thanks to Arts Council England donations will be matched £1 for £1. DOUBLE THE DONATION. DOUBLE THE IMPACT
