Join DanceEast at this year’s Ipswich Maritime Festival, and boogie your Sunday morning away. A special Baby Loves to Boogie disco will be taking place at the Jerwood DanceHouse as part of the weekend celebrations on Sunday 20 August, championing the town’s maritime history with a special Viking theme.
Get your arts & crafts hats and dancing shoes on for a fun-filled morning at the DanceHouse. Tots and their families can enjoy a disco at a baby-friendly volume, as well as lots of arts & crafts activities taking place in the building for all the family to get involved. Booking in advance is encouraged but spontaneous arrivals are welcome too. However, capacity is limited once we reach 200 participants including all adults & children we are unable to accommodate any further bookings.
Throughout the festival weekend there will be historical re-enactments, a variety of vessels, street food, fairground rides, punch and judy, stalls and children’s activities along the Ipswich Waterfront. A stage of live music performances, fire performers and a firework display finale on the Sunday night will complete the action.
The Ipswich Maritime Festival is the town’s way of celebrating its maritime history, and how this has shaped the development of the town following the recapture of Ipswich from the Vikings 1,100 years ago.
