IPSWICH PRINTWEEK

Ipswich PrintWeek 2023 is the 3rd annual festival of printmaking created by Oyster Community Press CIC, with events at venues across Ipswich from the 20 – 27 May. A prestigious exhibition of printmaking will be in the Whistler Gallery in the DanceEast building throughout the week.

PrintWeek is a great opportunity for art lovers to buy original works from both new and established printmakers, who are based within twenty-five miles of Ipswich. Oyster Community Press don’t charge commission, so the full sale price paid goes to the artists represented.

Since 2021, Oyster Press have been able to help over fifty local printmakers, some of whom were at the start of their careers, to keep creating and making their art for you to enjoy. Some of the work will be available to see here.

The exhibition is open daily from 10am – 5pm.

AN EVENING WITH TERRY GRAVETT, A.R.E.

As part of this year’s 3rd annual Ipswich PrintWeek 2023, Oyster Press are delighted that Terry Gravett, member of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers will be in conversation at The Whistler Gallery on Thursday 25 May at an informal event for people to find out more about Terry’s work and about Printmaking.

Terry has had a long and successful career as a printmaker and lecturer and will be sharing some of his private collection of prints on the night, so this is the perfect event for anyone who would like to meet an artist, ask them questions and find out what art they like to buy! The event is 6.30pm – 7.30pm and the DanceEast bar is open before and after.

Space is limited in the gallery so places must be booked by emailing oysterpress.cic@gmail.com and is allocated on a first come, first served basis. This is a free event, but you will need to show your email invitation to enter the gallery.
