Moving Minds is a creative dance and movement session for adults designed to support and improve mental health and wellbeing, as well as build social interaction.
This term, sessions will take place via Zoom and Inside Out are able to provide support to access the app, should this be required.
No previous dance experience is required; we welcome anyone who feels drawn to the idea of creative dance and movement as a way of supporting their wellbeing & mental health.
A safe and supportive space is created, in which it feels comfortable to explore movement and express yourself with increasing creativity and freedom. We have fun in the process as we move independently and collaborate with others. It is a session in which everything is voluntary, so there is no pressure on anyone to ‘perform’ – the goal is to learn about the art of creative dance while developing movement skills, awareness of good alignment and safe practice, progressing at our own individual pace & physical ability.
The session lasts for an hour and includes time for conversation at the beginning and afterwards should you wish to stay online.
DanceEast and Inside Out Community have worked together over the last year to develop the project, with ongoing discussion and consultation with participants.
