Rendez-Vous Dance invites audiences and artists to witness the company dancers take class with Artistic Director, Mathieu Geffré. Watch Dance Class is an open house, professional company class experience for dance students, art students, artists, bloggers, and anyone interested in peeking behind the scenes – you will be free to draw, paint, or simply observe.
These open house sessions enhance the cultural dialogue between dance companies and their audiences, revealing the behind the scenes of a working company.
Don’t miss this exclusive insight into the life of Rendez-Vous Dance as they prepare for their performance of The Monocle.
*Tickets to the Watch Dance Class are free, but must be booked with a ticket to the evening performance. When purchasing a ticket for the Watch Dance Class, you will need to provide your booking reference.
Important Information
- Watch Dance Class takes place during a company class. The dancers will be warming up for the day in preparation for the show; this means they will not be in full costume, and may have shirts carrying logos.
- Watch Dance Class takes place in the theatre which has tiered seating. Seats are unallocated, so attendees may sit wherever they like and are also free to move around. However, we do ask that you are as quiet as possible and keep noise levels to a minimum at all times.
- DanceEast does not supply art materials for these sessions, so please do bring your own. You may also want to bring something to lean on as the theatre seating does not provide this.
- We would love to share your work with the dance company and our audiences on social media, so please do tag us in anything you are happy to be shared – @danceeast on Facebook, Instagram, and X.
- Artwork made during a Watch Dance Class should be credited in all usage including:
– Use in a personal Portfolio
– Use on social media
– Publicly sharing - Credit should read: ‘Rendez-Vous Dance in Company Class at DanceEast Watch Dance Class, Friday 7 June 2024.’
