The internationally renowned and pioneering Rural Retreats puts DanceEast on the global map and brings together, every few years, leaders from the world’s top dance companies. Our next Retreat is in 2019.
Our world class dance studios are available to hire at a preferential rate for professional dance artists. All three studios have wall barres, mirrors, and cubby-holes for bags etc. Each enjoys natural ventilation and comfort cooling when required. DanceEast hosts gatherings and offers support to Suffolk-based dance artists interested in sharing ideas, working collaboratively and developing their choreographic practice. For UK based choreographers, working across all genres and contexts, with a minimum of two years professional experience.
DanceEast has developed a reputation as a fantastic facility to create new work; our first-class facilities, supportive environment and peaceful surroundings are perfect for artists looking to immerse themselves in their choreographic process. We provide residencies and production weeks to a whole range of artists at different career stages.

We offer many opportunities for Professional Artists including Continuing Professional Development at all levels from dance student to graduate, to dance teacher and artist.
Artists are at the heart of our organisation and we are committed to supporting you in a number of ways. Look out for our workshops, events, classes and opportunities to work with visiting companies, associate artists and the Centre for Advanced Training students.
