Venue Hire

Ideally suited to a wide range of events including performances, AGMs, meetings, product launches, award ceremonies, corporate hospitality and parties, the Jerwood DanceHouse is an inspiring, adaptable and accessible building.

We have three dance studios available for hire at the Jerwood DanceHouse. All three studios have wall barres, mirrors, and cubby-holes for bags etc. Each enjoys natural ventilation with operable windows, and mechanical comfort cooling when required. Also available to hire is the James Hehir studio theatre, our largest space which is ideal for performances and group activities, as well as conferences and seminars.

Other locations you can hire include our Therapy Room, The Retreat, Seminar Room, the Café, the Foyer and the Whistler Gallery.

Price is on application (based on hourly rate) and various rates apply for artists, commercial, artistic, charitable and government funded organisations. Please note that as we run a regular programme of classes, so studio space is subject to availability.

This double-height 11.5×11.5×4.5m studio, has a sprung timber dance floor finished with Harlequin dance linoleum. This is a great studio for ballet and comes equipped with an electric piano, full sound system with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zoom and presentation facilities.

The Ashton Studio is suited to both the recording and live broadcast of chroma keyed, and otherwise, videography and photography. The space is equipped with a green screen, lighting, Bluetooth audio and WiFi. The screen can be easily set for basic horizon work, but it can also be set to 270′ with a matching floor and 360′ for a single continuous shot.  The studio is 11.4/11.5m with a screen area of 10.26m by 8.72m which allows for a gallery area to the front.  A Green Screen cove can be supplied to soften the join between screen and floor.

The Wellbeing studio

This double-height 11.5×11.5×5.4m studio has a natural wood sprung timber dance floor. This studio is perfect for yoga, Pilates and fitness classes, and comes equipped with an electric piano, full sound system and video viewing facilities with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zoom and presentation facilities.

The Red Shoe studio

Long and rectangular, this 20×11.5×4.1m double-height studio can be divided into two spaces of 10×11.5m by a sliding acoustic partition. It has a sprung timber dance floor finished with Harlequin dance linoleum. This is an ideal space for classes using shoes as well as for functions and meetings. It comes equipped with an upright piano, full sound system with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zoom and presentation facilities.

A 4.8m by 5.5m space suitable for Zoom workshop delivery, Zoom meeting attendance, small scale video recording and photography. This space can also be equipped with a green screen.

A row of seats facing a big screenThe James Hehir studio theatre at the DanceHouse is our largest space with a stage size of 16 x 20m. It is suitable for performances and group activities as well as corporate requirements such as large conferences, presentations and seminars.

The Mezzanine is our area above the cafe which is available for exclusive hire. There’s space for up to sixty people and it’s an ideal space for small meetings, get-togethers and celebrating special occasions. We can offer you various catering options as well as a fully licensed bar, and there’s free wifi available too.

Our Treatment Room is a private room and includes a therapy table.

 

 

 

Judy Difiore
Soft Tissue Therapist

After extensive experience as a Soft Tissue Therapist in NW London, Judy is delighted to return to Ipswich to set up a clinic at DanceEast.

With a particular interest in dance, Judy uses a variety of hands-on techniques to address acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions in patients of all ages, from all walks of life. She is a firm believer in correct alignment for reducing injury rusk and optimising functional movement, regardless of activity levels. Treatments are supported by individualised, follow-up movement programmes to compliment clinic sessions and speed-up recovery time.

A former professional dancer, Judy is a member of the Healthcare Team on the Centre for Advanced Training Programme at DanceEast and is involved in annual musculoskeletal screening for dance students at the English National Ballet School and London Studio Centre. Judy holds an MSc in Sports Rehabilitation (Dist) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Dance Medicine from Queen Mary University of London. She is a Lecturer on the BA Course at the University of Suffolk and a qualified Pilates Instructor.
