U.DANCE EAST
Celebrating Youth Dance in the East of England
U.Dance East is a celebration of the talent, creativity and diversity of young dancers from across the East of England.
Each year, youth and school dance groups aged 11-19 (or up to 25 for dancers with disabilities) are invited to apply to take part. Whether you’re based in a school, college or community setting, U.Dance East is a chance to showcase your choreography, develop your skills, and connect with other young dancers in a professional setting. The platform is open to all dance styles. A group can have up to 30 members and must be from the East of England region.
U.Dance East is a fantastic experience. We are working hard behind the scenes to put together the most exciting regional platform yet!
DanceEast hosts two strands; U.Dance East and U.Dance East Fringe, both taking place at the Jerwood DanceHouse in Ipswich.
U.Dance East
A performance platform and full-day experience at DanceEast, also part of the regional platform for One Dance UK’s national youth dance festival.
Groups take part in professional workshops, meet other youth dancers, and perform their work in the Studio Theatre in front of a live audience. Pieces presented at the event will be considered for selection to represent the East region at the U.Dance National Festival, delivered by One Dance UK.
It is a wonderful celebration of young talent and provides the opportunity for young dancers to connect, to take part in workshops, to learn more about the dance sector and above all to showcase their love of dance.
