DON’T MISS Community Experience Day –Saturday 11 April 2014 10.00am to 12.00pm at the Jerwood DanceHouse, Ipswich
DanceEast, The New Wolsey Theatre and New Art Club are currently seeking talented community performers for Hercules: A Dance Cabaret
Created by and starring the award winning comedy double act, Tom Roden and Pete Shenton, of New Art Club, this story of Hercules is told through hilarious dance routines and amazing speciality acts. It’s a modern cabaret for the whole family: a pantomime, a history lesson and a party all rolled into one side-splitting adventure.
Who can take part?
We are looking for 8 local performers with:
- Some experience/natural talent for dance and performance
- Aged 11 – 16yrs
- Confident to perform on the main stage of The New Wolsey Theatre
- Are local to Ipswich and can be committed to the rehearsals and performances (see below)
Local Performers will learn a section of choregraphy to be performed as part of the main show working with some highly established professional performers.
What is the commitment?
There will be two performance’s at The New Wolsey Theatre on Wednesday 17 June 2015 (11.00am and 7.45pm).
Interested individuals will be asked to attend an Experience Morning on Saturday 11 April 2015 10.00am-12.00pm at the Jerwood DanceHouse, Ipswich. This will be an opportunity to hear more about the show from creators Tom and Pete, to try out some choreography and to learn more about the commitment.
Those who are invited to join the cast will then be expected to attend the following rehearsals at The Jerwood DanceHouse, Ipswich*:
Saturday 25 April 2015, 2.00 – 4.00pm
Saturday 2 May 2015, 2.00 – 4.00pm
Saturday 9 May 2015, 2.00 – 4.00pm
Saturday 16 May 2015, 2.00 – 4.00pm
Saturday 30 May 2015, 2.00 – 4.00pm
Saturday 6 June 2015, 2.00 – 4.00pm
Participants will also be required during the production week on the following dates*:
Sunday 14 June 2015, 1.00 – 6.00pm, New Wolsey Studio
Monday 15 June 2015, 5.00 – 9.00pm, New Wolsey Studio
Tuesday 16 June 2015, 5.00 – 9.00pm, New Wolsey Studio
Wednesday 17.06.2015, from 9.30am, New Wolsey Theatre
