SUFFOLK YOUTH DANCE COMPANY AUDITIONS & PREPARATION

29 Oct 2015

Suffolk Youth Dance Company is aimed at experienced young dancers aged 16 to 20. Sessions focus on contemporary technique, creativity, choreographic and performance skills. Members have the opportunity to work with expert dance artists and choreographers, and are encouraged to explore creatively to build on technical abilities.

DanceEast will be running preparation classes leading up to the company audition, to give you the opportunity to refine your skills and to perform your best at the audition. Material taught in these preparatory classes may feature in the company audition, so I would strongly encourage you to attend as many of these as possible. It will also allow you to meet other potential company members and begin to feel comfortable working with each other.

All of these preparation classes and the audition will be free to attend, and will run from 11.00am – 1.00pm.

Saturday 7, Saturday 14 & Saturday 21 November: Technique & Creative class with Sarah Lewis

Saturday 28 November: Audition Prep with Katie Cambridge and Sarah Lewis

Saturday 5 December: Suffolk Youth Dance Company Audition

We would also IMG_0192like to introduce the new Artistic Director of Suffolk Youth Dance Company, Katie Cambridge…

She has danced, toured and taught for the company over the last five years. Since leaving Tavaziva Katie has worked as a freelance dancer for Mad Dogs Dance Theatre, Pagrav Dance, Divya Kasturi, ArtsCross, SmallPetitKlein and Moxie Brawl amount others. Katie has taught extensively throughout her career both in education and to professionals and was the Creative Director for Shuffle Youth Dance Company at The Place.
