Judy Difiore
Originally from Ipswich, Judy trained at the Linda Shipton School of Dancing and Laine Theatre Arts before cruising the world as a dancer on the prestigious cruise liner Queen Elizabeth 2. Combining her performance skills with a love of fitness, Judy went on to train as a fitness instructor and became a teacher trainer and assessor for the NVQ award in Studio Instruction. After completing formal teaching qualifications Judy spent 18 years at Middlesex University, teaching all aspects of dance science on the BA Dance Performance course, and is now an occasional lecturer on the BA Dance programme at University of Suffolk.
Judy is also a very experienced Pilates instructor and soft tissue therapist with a special interest in the rehabilitation of dance injuries. She studied Dance Medicine at postgraduate level at Queen Mary’s University and has an MSc in Sports Rehabilitation. In addition to teaching Judy runs injury clinics locally (one here at Dance East) and in NW London and is involved in screening programmes with The English National Ballet School, The Royal Ballet School and London Studio Centre.
