Shakira Holder

CAT SUPPORT TEAM

Born in Ipswich, Shakira’s early years of dance are grounded in both Ballet and Hip Hop; joining DanceEast’s Suffolk Youth Dance Company in 2010 for 3 years. Shakira began to pursue an interest in Contemporary Dance and danced with National Youth Dance Company under Guest Artistic Director Akram Khan 2013/14.

Graduating from Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2017, Shakira has since worked for a range of dance organisations that work to engage communities into the arts, including Royal Opera House as a Chance To Dance Assistant, DanceEast as a creative Hip Hop teacher, Graduate Intern for Trinity Laban’s Learning and Participation team and Learning and communities coordinator for Rambert Dance Company. 

Shakira currently works for Sadler’s Wells as the NYDC/learning and engagement coordinator.
