CONTEMPORARY (12-18S) | OPEN

Artistic. Energetic. Skill-building. 

A high-energy contemporary dance class that dives into creativity and musicality. Explore improvisation, express yourself through movement, and build confidence and performance skills in a supportive, inspiring space.

This class is for young people aged 12-18 years with little to no experience in Contemporary Dance. If you no longer fit into this age bracket, check out our Adult Classes!
If you have more than 2 years’ experience in Contemporary Dance, check out our Advanced Contemporary class.

TERM DATES

Saturday 27 September – Saturday 6 December 2025
Half Term: There will be no class on Saturday 1 November 2025

WHAT TO BRING

Participants should wear clothes that they are comfortable moving in and bring a reusable bottle of water. Water fountains can be found on the ground floor and 1st floor of the building. Shoes should be removed for class and participants should wear socks or participate bare foot.

BURSARIES

Bursaries for autumn 2025 classes are now open.

Bursaries are available to participants on a termly basis. Please remember you will need to re-apply each term if you would like to continue receiving the bursary. Bursaries are not guaranteed each term and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. To keep the bursary for the full term, participants must attend at least 7 out of 10 classes. If 3 or more classes are missed without prior notice, the bursary will be withdrawn.

Children and young people from low-income households may be eligible to access this class for free through the DanceEast Bursary Fund. Find out more about the DanceEast Bursary Fund and the necessary criteria here.
