HOST

Tuesday 5 May 2026

HOST is our biennial celebration of dance and age, co-produced with EncoreEast. Offering a rare opportunity to share practice across the ever-evolving network of older dancers, groups and companies, HOST is ambitious to push boundaries, challenge perceptions and champion excellence.

This fifth edition will shine a spotlight on film and live performance work that promotes these ambitions and explore ideas of fusion – across cultures, ideas and practice.

HOST brings people together to move and talk in an exciting programme of workshops, presentations, discussions, and performances.

Suitable for over 50s and practitioners who work with over 50s.

CALL OUT FOR PERFORMANCES AND FILMS

We are now accepting applications for performance work and films to be presented at HOST 2026.

Proposals are invited from companies of older dancers across and beyond East Anglia and may be for existing, new, or work in development. Film proposals may also be submitted by individuals and informal groups. We hope to show a range of high-quality work and creative approaches which means time slots will be limited to:

Live performances: 5 – 7 minutes

Films: up to 10 minutes

HOST is designed to bring people together to dance and share practice. It is not just a performance platform or showcase and all performers are expected to engage fully with the whole day and each other’s work.

Companies selected to perform at HOST will be expected to purchase a ticket (one per dancer) to attend the whole event, which includes a range of workshops, talks, performances and refreshments.
