British Dance Edition is the biennial showcase and initiative of the National Dance Network hosted biennially in different cities across the UK. It is renowned for presenting the best of British dance and is a market place for the buying and selling of dance product.
British Dance Edition Cymru 2016 takes place in Wales Millennium Centre, set in the heart of Cardiff Bay and the thriving Capital of Wales. The four-day industry focused showcase for British Dance will also be hosted by Coreo Cymru, Chapter, National Dance Company of Wales and Riverfront Theatre, Newport who are looking forward to extending a warm Welsh welcome to UK and international promoters and presenters.
The 2016 showcase will present work from 36 leading UK companies and independent artists and a further 11 companies offering their work through pitching sessions. Delegate promoters will be offered a choice of three different programme pathways with an average of 19 performance slots in each. In addition to a broad programme of dance there will be opportunities to meet the artists, discuss the work and engage with other promoters plus a large-scale trade show on 17 March including one-day pass scheme for promoters and producers.
