Joy. Wonder. Spectacular.
Step into Luca Silvestrini’s new dance-theatre adaptation of Mozart’s opera, The Magic Flute.
A tale of love and friendship shining through darkness, join the fun-loving bird-catcher Papageno and the lost Prince Tamino as they set out to rescue Princess Pamina, uncovering the truth about the mysterious Queen of the Night and the powerful leader Sarastro.
The Magic Flute is brought to life with Protein’s playful mix of dancing, storytelling, singing and stunning visuals, with set and costume design by Dick Bird, rearranged Mozart and new music by composer Frank Moon, creative captions/video design by Douglas Baker and lighting by Rachel Shipp.
Every performance is welcoming and accessible with integrated creative captioning.
Following Protein’s award-winning family show The Little Prince, this enchanting new production is perfect for children aged 5+ and their grown-ups.
*Please note the performance on Saturday 13 December is a relaxed performance and will include Creative Captions, Audio Description and BSL
A relaxed performance offers a warm welcome to people who face barriers attending the theatre. The theatre lights will not be turned off completely during the performance, there is a relaxed approach to noise and movement, you are free to leave and re-enter the auditorium whenever you need to, and there are no loud or sudden sound effects or strobe lighting. There will also be a calm and quiet chill-out area for anyone who needs it.
Everyone is welcome to attend the relaxed performance whether you face barriers at the theatre or not. If you would like any more information on the relaxed performance, please contact our Box Office team on 01473 295230 or info@danceeast.co.uk
