Join Phoenix Dance Theatre and Stopgap Dance Company at DanceEast this Autumn for GCSE Dance Day! Expect an exciting day of workshops with these two incredible companies and give your students the opportunity to work with professional dance artists and further explore pieces from the GCSE Professional Set Works. Ideal for students in Year 9, 10 and 11.
Groups will have a 2-hour workshop with each company and explore the following:
Phoenix Dance Theatre:
Providing a unique insight into Phoenix Dance Theatre and further exploring the piece Shadows, dancers will work with a current or former company dancer and have the opportunity to:
- Develop their contemporary dance technique
- Learn material from Phoenix Dance Theatre’s repertoire
- Enhance their own choreographic skills
- Share their work for peer feedback and discussion
Stopgap Dance Company:
In this workshop, students will work alongside Stopgap artists to delve into their piece Artificial Things. Students will have the chance to gain deeper insight into the company’s inclusive methodologies and the creation process behind the production.
