If any of the above sounds like you, apply today!
Applications are accepted from young people aged 10-16 years (on the 1 September 2022) from the East of England from all backgrounds.
We’re looking for applicants with strong physical awareness, creativity, the ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Both non-experienced and experienced young dancers are encouraged to apply.
If you would like to join the DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training (CAT), you will need to attend a FREE audition. Auditions run each year in May and June.
The auditions are designed so that everyone can take part and have fun. We also have optional Audition Support Workshops to help guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.
There is a two-stage audition process. Everyone who applies will be invited to take part in a Stage One Audition which will include three short workshops in contemporary technique, ballet and creative – you do not need to prepare anything in advance of the audition. Students will be placed in a class with people of a similar age and level of experience.
The auditions are designed to be as accessible and fun as possible, so you don’t need to have any previous dance experience. You may then be invited to attend a Stage Two audition.
We encourage everyone to apply, no matter previous dance experience.
Auditions will take place at the Jerwood DanceHouse, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP4 1DW on the below dates.
